I have an art wall at home, specifically full of art not just made in Bremerton, but made OF Bremerton. I thought I would highlight some of these pieces and artists here in case anyone else would like to support these artists. This page contains outlinks to the artists, who don't have neocities presence.
Heavy Jeans is a public art project that does a free poster scavenger hunt each month. It is the brainchild of Pier Six Press. The Bremerton-centric posters in clude Live where you love and building on a proud tradition. Pier six has also done some posters like Dive Deep, which has the old evergreen memorial pool in the background. Sometimes I think of it as my mascot- dive deep into the weirld old bremerton history. They also made a gorgeous poster for The Roxy's 80th birthday.
- Barry the art guy also makes posters. He did some really beautiful posters for Ballast Book co, Wayzgoose and the the West Sound Film Festival. He did the Ashley's pub print. . The real show stoppers are the ones he did of the Bridges- Port Washington narrows and the manette centennial. I love his use of color and ink pen style.
- Toni Yuly writes and illustrates children's books but they must also dabble in photography. They released a series of postcards with photos taken around bremerton. My favorite is the one of Tony's Pizza, which is a place that holds memories for MANY a bremerton family.
what else?
